Weather and Clothing;
* The autumn season is the best travel period for China, as the temperatures are comfortable (50-72F), and that period is not rainy. The autumn season spans form September to early November.
* Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanchang and Tianjing are the so called, “four furnaces” of China during summer which should be refrained from traveling.
* Because China has four seasons, be sure to bring suitable clothing with you for each season. From March to May is Spring, From June to August is Summer, from September to November is Autumn and from January to February is Winter. Be sure to dress accordingly for each season.
* A raincoat is essential during summer time as summer is also rainy season in China and umbrellas are usually defenseless against winds.
* Avoid wearing revealing clothing around the Chinese, who are a conservative people.
* Since women are not allowed to wear skirts when visiting Chinese temples, they should remember to bring slacks.
What to Bring into China;
* Clothing is probably one of the things you shouldn?t worry about when going to China. Clothing is very cheap here, and would make pretty good souvenirs. So pack your bags light, and you can buy the rest of your wardrobe on the go.
* As the Chinese are very particular with Christianity, and Christian Catechism, it is recommended to take no more than one bible into China.
* A few prohibited materials in China aside from the usual narcotics and deadly weapons are food, micro-organisms, biological products, waste materials, portions of human body, blood and blood products and animals that may spread diseases to humans.
* Any item such as printed materials, films, tapes, etc., which are considered harmful to the economy, politics, culture and ethics of China are forbidden.
When you arrive in China;
* In order to ensure you don’t bring ant harmful diseases with you, you are obliged to undergo a health check before leaving the airport.
Photography in China;
* Please avoid taking pictures at aerodromes, military and political facilities in China.
* Please be advised that pictures should never be taken from an airplane or any type of aircraft.
* Before taking pictures of residents or their possessions, it is important to ask their permission before doing so.
* You are not allowed to take pictures in most temples, Palaces, grottoes and museums. To prevent any unnecessary trouble, be aware and attentive of signs that prohibit the taking of pictures. However, there are some establishments that will allow you to take pictures for a small fee.
